31st All India Postal Cricket Tournament at Postal Training Centre Vadodara - Highlights (Day 4)

The 31st All India Postal Cricket Tournament was started on 20-01-2018 in Postal Training Centre, Vadodara. From the quarter final matches played on 22-01-2018, four teams were selected for the semi-finals which were played on 23-01-2018 at Postal Training Centre and Railway campus ground. Gujarat defeated Odisha by 7 wickets in the first semi-final match and has reserved their tickets to the final match. In an another semi-final match played between West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh, the “Bengal Tigers” defeat the “Food Bowl of South” by 231 runs.
The day was belonged to West Bengal team, as they powered to 312/6 in 40 overs after losing the toss. Soham Ghosh scored 135 runs out of 82 balls including fourteen fours and six sixes. In other end Abhirup Gupta hit 81 runs out of 96 balls. Andhra Pradesh could score only 81 runs in 20 overs. They lost their wickets at regular intervals and finally West Bengal clinched the match by 231 runs.

Gujarat won the toss and decided to field first. Odisha looked ordinary for most part of the game and finished with 111/10 in 30.1 overs. With little or no pressure to contend with, Gujarat’s openers treated the 111 chase as an extended net session. Rohan Tapa displayed his punch and power by strolling to a half-century with his stability. He scored 53 runs out of 58 balls including one six and 9 fours in his inning and finally Gujarat sealed a 7 wicket win in 23.1 overs against Odisha to maintain an all-round win record in all the rounds of the tournament and will play the final clash against West Bengal at Postal Training Centre ground on January 24.
