It is informed that, as per the Mail Operations Division's letter No. Mail-30/5/2025-D-DoP dated 02.07.2025 (copy enclosed), the Registered Post service is to be merged with the Speed Post service for domestic mail transmission, with effect from 01.09.2025. The primary objective of this merger is to streamline postal operations, enhance operational efficiency, and improve customer convenience by consolidating similar service offerings.
2. In view of this merger, the Mail Operations Division has requested all relevant Directorates, Divisions, and Training Centres to undertake a thorough review of all administrative instructions, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), functional orders, workflow documents, technical manuals, training content, and any other related material that contains references to "Registered Post" or "Registered Post with Acknowledgement Due".
3. Accordingly, all the Training Institutes are directed to:
- Conduct a comprehensive review of their existing training materials and content.
- Modify or update the materials to reflect the merger appropriately.
- Replace references to "Registered Post" with Speed Post terminology, or remove them where applicable.
- Ensure that all training modules are aligned with the revised service structure and operational guidelines.
4. It is requested to complete this review and submit a confirmation report regarding the action taken on or before 31.07.2025 to ensure uniformity and readiness before the implementation date.

This is with reference to the proposed merger of the "Registered Post" service with the "Speed Post" service for domestic transmission, approved by the Secretary and Director General. The merger is scheduled to be implemented with effect from 01.09.2025.
2. The initiative aims to streamline mail services, enhance operational efficiency, improve tracking mechanisms, and deliver greater customer convenience by consolidating similar services under a unified framework.
3. In light of the upcoming operational integration, it is imperative that all concerned Directorates and Divisions undertake a comprehensive review of their existing administrative instructions, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), functional orders, workflow documents, technical manuals, training content, and any other documents where references to "Registered Post" or "Registered Post with Acknowledgement Due" exist.
4. Necessary modifications must be made to ensure alignment with the revised operational framework, and references to "Registered Post" may be suitably replaced with Speed Post terminology or removed, as required.
5. All amendments may be finalized well in advance to ensure smooth rollout from the stipulated date. A confirmation on the action taken may kindly be sent to this office by 31.07.2025.
6. This may be treated as urgent.
7. This issues with the approval of the Competent Authority.
