Exam Notification: The Jammu & Kashmir Postal Circle has officially notified the PO & RMS Accountant Examination for 2025, scheduled for November 2, 2025 (Sunday). The notification is based on directives from the Postal Directorate (Letter No. A-34012/01/2025-DE).

Key Dates & Schedule:

• Notification Issue: September 8, 2025
• Application Deadline (Divisional Office): September 29, 2025
• Checklist Submission to Circle Office: October 7, 2025
• Admit Card Issue: October 17, 2025
• Exam Date: November 2, 2025
• Timings: Paper-I (1000 Hrs - 1300 Hrs), Paper-II (1400 Hrs - 1700 Hrs)

Vacancy Details: A total of 10 vacancies exist across various divisions in J&K Circle (Srinagar: 2, Jammu: 4, Baramulla: 2, Udhampur: 1, Ladakh: 1).

Eligibility Criteria:

• Candidates must be Postal Assistants (PA) or Sorting Assistants (SA).
• Must have at least 3 years of continuous service in the PA/SA cadre as of September 29, 2025.
• Must possess a consistently good service record for the preceding three years.
• Officials already in the LSG (Accountant) cadre are NOT eligible to apply.
• Each candidate is allowed a maximum of 3 chances to appear for the exam. Scoring 60% or more in a paper grants exemption from that paper in the next two subsequent exams.

Qualifying Marks:

• OC Candidates: 45% per paper, 50% aggregate
• SC/ST Candidates: 38% per paper, 43% aggregate

Syllabus (As prescribed by Directorate):

• Paper-I (With Books): Covers Service Rules (CCS Joining Time, Leave, Pension, GPF Rules) and Allowances (DA, HRA, CCA, Children Education Assistance).
• Paper-II (With Books): Covers Financial Rules (Financial Handbook Vol I & II, P&T Manual Vol II), Accounting Aspects (P&T Manual Vol IV, Postal Manual Vol VI), and specific procedures for Advances, Reimbursements, and Postal Insurance Funds.

Application Process: Eligible candidates must submit a prescribed application form with attested photographs through their controlling officer/Head of Office, who will verify all details and forward a checklist to the Circle Office.
