Subject: Removal of "C/o" (care of) field from the enrolment and update clients

Current Situation:

Problem:

Fraudulent usage of Aadhaar has been reported.
Individuals misuse the "C/o [name]" text as proof of relationship with the named person when presenting their Aadhaar to other entities.
Mandated Changes (Effective from June 1, 2025):
The "C/o" field will be removed entirely from all enrolment and update client software.

Exception: Only in Head of Family (HoF)-based enrolments/updates will "C/o [HoF's name]" be automatically appended to the address.

Quality Control (QC): Must reject any non-HoF-based enrolment/update packets containing "C/o [name]" or similar relationship prefixes (S/o, D/o, W/o, H/o, etc.) in the address field.
Operator Training: Operators must be instructed to not manually enter any relationship prefixes ("C/o", "S/o", "D/o", etc.) into the address field.

Action Required By: UIDAI Tech Centre, Bengaluru (Tech Development/Operations Divisions)

Implementation Deadline: June 1, 2025 (for changes to all clients, including myAadhaar Portal and mAadhaar app)
