Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) Resolving Finacle Error by Updating the Hosts File

If you are facing the below attached Finacle error, please note that the issue can be resolved by making changes to the Hosts file on your system.
We have two types of users accessing Finacle:
  1. DOP Users/Desktops
  2. IPPB Users/Laptops

For IPPB Users/Laptops:

1. Extract the attached Hosts file from the email and Copy.
2. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc on your laptop.
3. Replace the existing hosts file in this folder with the extracted one.


For DOP Users/Desktops: 
1. Press Windows + R, type drivers, and press Enter. 
2. Open the folder named etc. 
3. Locate the hosts file, copy it, and paste it onto your Desktop. 
4. Open the copied file from the Desktop using Notepad. 
5. Look for any entry related to cbslb001.ippb.in, such as: 
6. 172.31.228.110 cbslb001.ippb.in 
7. Either delete this line completely or comment it out by adding # at the beginning.
8. Add the following entry at the end of the file: 172.23.228.110 cbslb001.ippb.in



9. Save the changes in Notepad (File > Save). 
10. Copy the updated hosts file from the Desktop and paste it back into the etc folder. 
  • When prompted, select Replace the file. o If asked for admin permission, click Continue and provide admin credentials. 
11. Press Ctrl + Alt + Del, open Task Manager, and end the task for Microsoft Edge. 12. Try opening Finacle again.
