Guidelines to Head of Circles for procurement of Inspection vehicle in Department of Posts

Subject: Policy for supply of inspection vehicles to the entitled class of officers.

References are being received in this Directorate for procurement of AC inspection vehicles within price limit of Rs. 9.5 lakh (inclusive of all taxes) with reference to letter No. 17-1/2023-MV dated 29.02.2024.

2. It is to inform that vide letter of even No. dated 29.02.2024, Chief Postmasters General have been empowered to decide the make & model of vehicle within the price limit of Rs. 9.5 lakh (inclusive of all taxes) available on GeM in consultation with CIFA considering various parameters like geographical terrain of circle, service facility in the specific location, ease of maintenance, price, fuel economy, Eco-friendliness, standardization of large-scale purchases, availability on GeM etc. Besides this, no other restrictions have been imposed for procurement of inspection vehicles.
