Subject: Revision of Pattern & Syllabus for Limited Departmental Competitive Examination for the post of Inspector Posts.

Purpose: This communication supersedes the previous pattern and syllabus (dated 06.04.2021) and introduces the updated syllabus for the LDCE for Inspector Posts. It is effective immediately and applies to all examinations held after this date.

Pattern of Examination:

• Papers: Three papers (Paper-I, Paper-II, Paper-III).
• Marks:
  • Paper-I: 250 Marks
  • Paper-II: 50 Marks
  • Paper-III: 300 Marks
• Format:
  • Paper-I: 125 MCQ questions (2 marks each), Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes.
  • Paper-II: Noting & Drafting (30 marks: 15 each) and Draft Charge Sheet (20 marks), Duration: 1 hour.
  • Paper-III: 150 MCQ questions (2 marks each), Duration: 3 hours.
• Qualifying Marks:
  • General: 40% in each paper, with an overall average of 45%.
  • SC/ST/PwBD: 33% in each paper, with an overall average of 38%.
• Syllabus Cut-off: Circulars, orders, and guidelines issued up to 31st December of the year preceding the examination year are included. The latest Annual Report and Book of Information available on the DoP website are included.
• Exam Mode: Without the aid of books.
