Grant of Special Casual Leave upto 30days to Government Servants Participating in Trekking Expeditions

In Department of Posts employee can avail special CL upto 30 days for trekking expedition approved by IMF or YHAI

5.6 Government servants, who participate in trekking or mountaineering expeditions which have the approval of the Indian Mountaineering Foundation, may be granted special casual leave not exceeding thirty days in any calendar year. This special casual leave may be combined with regular leave.

OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject: Grant of Special Casual Leave to Government servants participating in Trekking Expeditions -

The undersigned is directed to refer to this Department's O.M.No.28016/2/84-Estt(A), dated 11.4.1985 which provides for grant of special casual leave to government employees participating in Trekking Expeditions and to say that it has been decided that special casual leave may also be granted to Government servants who participate in Trekking Expeditions organised by Youth Hostels Association of India as well as expeditions, which have the approval of the Indian Mountaineering Federation.

Therefore, the period of absence from duty of Central Government employees participating in Trekking Expeditions may be regulated by grant of special casual leave not exceeding 30 days in one calendar year subject to the following conditions:-

(I)(a) That the expedition has the approval of the Indian Mountaineering Federation or is organised by Youth Hostels Association of India; and

(b) There will be no change in the overall limit of 30 days of special casual leave for an individual government servant for one calendar year for participating in sporting events of national or international importance.

II The period of absence in excess of 30 days should be treated as regular leave of the kind admissible under the leave rules applicable to the persons concerned, for this purpose Government servants may be permitted as a special case, to combine special casual leave with regular leave.
