The 8th Pay Commission was announced on 15 January 2025 by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav. But even after 8 months, it was officially formed only on 28 October 2025.
It has been 2.5 months since formation (November, December, and now mid-January). The commission has no office, no meetings, no schedule. Nothing has started.
VERY SLOW PROGRESS
The government says it will take 18 months to complete. But if we add the time already wasted, it might not arrive until 2028. It was supposed to start from 1 January 2026, but that date has already passed.
