Conveyer Belt & DWS Systme installed at EPPC Parcel, Mumbai

Considering huge expansion scope and exponential growth of E-commerce Business, Conveyor belt & DWS (Dimensioning, Weighing & Scanning) based system at e Commerce Parcel Processing Centre, Parcel has been set up.

In order to simplify the operational process and to bring accuracy in the weight measuring and postage calculation system, a conveyor belt & DWS has been installed. The system facilitates operational convenience to the staff and speeds up the processing of the parcel.

The main features of the system are as under:

1. Easy unloading/loading of parcels on conveyors. 
2. Easy & faster movement of parcels on conveyors.
3. Faster booking process of parcels in speed net
4. Automatic barcode scanning of parcels by DWS
5. Automatic weighing of the parcels by DWS
6. Automatic dimensioning of the parcels by DWS
7. Automatic bay-wise sorting of parcels by the DWS
8. Actual weight of the parcels is captured; therefore wrong weight noted in Excel sheet data by the customers is identified. This has eliminated leakage of revenue due to wrong weight.
9. Processing capacity of the centre is 10000 per shift and 30000 per day.
10. No parcel is kept on floor. 
11. Maximum transit time of parcels at EPPC is 2 hrs. The parcels are closed and dispatched to Airport TMO and NSH Mumbai in 2 hrs.
12. DWS system provides VMS weight and the postage is calculated according to VMS weight. The postage revenue of the department has increased considerably.

15. The centre covers all 90 National Hubs, Mumbai TD, Catchment areas of NSH, Thane District and Navi Mumbai.
