The Regional Passport Office, Madurai is all set to open its post office Passport Seva Kendra at Nagercoil Head Post Office on Wednesday (February 28).
An official statement said the RPO, Madurai, which is now operating two Passport Seva Kendra at Madurai and Tirunelveli, has decided to establish similar facilities in the Head Post Offices at Virudhunagar, Nagercoil, Ramanathapuram, Sivaganga and Dindigul in a bid to help applicants apply in a place close to their residents.
The Passport Seva Kendra at Nagercoil will be inaugurated on Wednesday at 11.30 a.m. by Union Minister of State for Shipping and Finance Pon. Radhakrishnan in the presence of Director of Posts Pavan Kumar Singh, Regional Head, Department of Posts R. Anand and Regional Passport Officer, Madurai, Arun Prasad.
The new facility will receive 50 applications a day and this number will be subsequently increased based on the patronage and necessity, the official statement said.
