Subject: Clarification on payment of double Transport Allowance (TA) to persons with temporary disabilities (Case of Shri Shamsher, SA, HRO Ambala).

2. Key Directives

  • Eligibility:
    • Double TA is payable to employees with temporary disabilities until the expiration of their disability certificate.
    • Renewal/re-validation of the certificate is required for continued benefits.
  • Conditions:
    • Must fulfill criteria outlined in DoE’s OM dated 15.09.2022.
  • Approval:
    • DoE’s OM (12.06.2023) cites Ministry of Defence’s OM (07.03.2023) as reference.

  • Haryana Circle: To process Shri Shamsher’s case and similar cases per DoE’s guidelines.
  • India Post: Order to be uploaded on the official website by CEPT.
