Subject: Risk and Hardship Allowance payable to Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) - Clarification

Key Points:

• Purpose: Clarification on locations eligible for Risk and Hardship Allowance for GDS, as requested by multiple Circles.
• Decision: The Competent Authority has approved the adoption of locations identified for Tough Location Allowance (notified by the Department of Expenditure vide OM dated 19.07.2017) for determining GDS eligibility.
• Background: This addresses queries from Himachal Pradesh and North East Circles (letters dated 07.11.2022 and 23.11.2022).

  • Senior officials (Additional DG, Members, Directors General, etc.)
  • BD Directorate, Parcel Directorate, PLI Directorate
  • Training centers (RAKNPA Ghaziabad, Postal Training Centres)

  • Recognized Federations/Unions/Associations
