Subject: Clarification regarding standard format of DIGIPIN in official addressing – reg.

Madam/Sir,

Please refer to this Directorate letter No.35-01/2025-PO-Part (1) dated 13.03.2026 (copy enclosed) regarding incorporation of DIGIPIN in official addressing practices.

In this regard, it is clarified that the illustration provided in para 5 of the said letter reflecting the DIGIPIN format in a 3 3 4 format (39J 49L L726) shall be replaced with 3 4 3 format (39J 49LL 726) as prescribed in the Address Standard Document.

This may be brought to the notice of all concerned.
