PUBLIC NOTICE – Temporary Suspension of Certain Postal Consignments to European Union Countries

The Department of Posts hereby informs the public that, consequent upon the regulatory changes introduced by the European Union under Regulation Notification No. C(2026) 2760 dated 30 April 2026, effective from 1 July 2026, the booking and transmission of the following categories of postal consignments destined for European Union countries shall remain suspended with effect from 27 June 2026:

• All IOSS consignments destined for European Union countries; and
• Non-IOSS commercial consignments destined for Austria and Denmark.

However, documents, letters, personal items (including gifts), and non-IOSS commercial consignments to EU countries shall continue to be accepted for booking and transmission. Non-IOSS commercial consignment for Austria and Denmark shall not be accepted for booking and transmission.

The Department of Posts is closely monitoring the evolving regulatory situation and is actively engaging with all concerned stakeholders to operationalize a fully compliant solution in accordance with the new European Union customs requirements. Every effort is being made to restore acceptance and transmission of the affected categories of consignments to the concerned destinations at the earliest possible date.

Customers are requested to take note of the above temporary restrictions. In cases where consignments have already been booked but cannot be dispatched or returned from the EU destination due to the regulatory changes, the applicable postage charges shall be refunded in accordance with the prescribed procedures.

The Department regrets any inconvenience caused and appreciates the continued cooperation and understanding of its customers.
