Subject: Invitation of willingness from eligible IPs/ASPs for posting in the Directorate on attachment basis/against sanctioned strength – regarding.

Attention is invited to this Directorate's Order No. X-7/27/2022-SPN-II dated 19.06.2026 regarding the guidelines to regulate the posting of Inspector Posts (IPs)/Assistant Superintendent of Posts (ASPs) Cadre in the Directorate (including PLI and Parcel & CCS Directorates).

In accordance with the aforesaid guidelines and in view of the vacancies likely to arise in the Directorate on account of the relieving of officers who have completed their prescribed tenure of 6 years, willingness is hereby invited from eligible officers of the Inspector of Posts (IPs) and Assistant Superintendent of Posts (ASPs) cadres who are willing to work in the Directorate either on attachment basis or against the sanctioned strength.

Eligibility Conditions

Inspector of Posts (IP):

The officer should have completed a minimum of two years of regular service in the IP cadre.

Assistant Superintendent of Posts (ASP):

No minimum service criterion has been prescribed.

All willing IPs/ASPs are advised to go through the guidelines and ensure their eligibility before submitting their willingness. Willingness of eligible IPs/ASPs, duly recommended by the Head of Circle (HoC) and accompanied by vigilance clearance/no current penalty, shall be forwarded by Circles to this Directorate in the prescribed proforma (Annexure-I).

The posting of IPs/ASPs in the Directorate shall be regulated strictly in accordance with the guidelines issued vide Directorate letter No. X-7/27/2022-SPN-II dated 19.06.2026. Submission of willingness shall not confer any right to posting in the Directorate.
