Sir,

I am directed to forward herewith a copy of OM No. 03002(2)/1/2020/TA-II(E-3001)/358 dated 03.08.2026 issued by the Office of the Controller General of Accounts, Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance. The said OM conveys that Central Government offices are requested to draw and disburse salary/wages/pension in the State of Kerala on 24.08.2026 on account of the ONAM festival.

2. In view of the above mentioned instructions, it is requested that necessary action be taken to ensure the disbursement of salary, wages and pension to the Postal staff and pensioners as above.

This issues with the approval of competent authority.

Subject: Disbursement of salary/wages/pension to the Central Government Employees and pensioners in the State of Kerala for the month of August, 2026 on account of Onam festival - reg.

In view of the 'Onam' festival, the Government has decided that the salary of all Central Government employees in the State of Kerala for the month of August 2026 may be drawn and disbursed by the Central Government offices (including Defence, Posts & Telecommunications) on 24th August 2026 (Monday).

2. The wages for August, 2026 of the industrial employees of Central Government serving in the State of Kerala may also be disbursed in advance on 24th August 2026.

3. The pension for August, 2026 of all Central Government Pensioners in the State of Kerala may also be disbursed by Banks/AOs on 24th August 2026.

4. The salary/wages/pension so disbursed is to be treated as advance payments and will be subject to adjustment after the full month's salary/wages/pension of each employee/pensioner is determined. The adjustment, if any, will be made without exception from the salary/wages/pension of the month of August 2026.

5. The concerned Ministries/Departments are requested to bring these instructions to the notice of their offices located in the State of Kerala for necessary action immediately.

6. Reserve Bank of India is requested to bring these instructions to the notice of all paying branches of all Banks located in the State of Kerala for necessary action immediately.
