Clarification has been received from AD(SB), New Delhi-1 on the subject, as mentioned below.Kindly cause circulation to all concerned for information, guidance and necessary action.
"In case account stands at SO or HO, Passbook is not mandatory in CBS post offices but if account stands at a BO, it is mandatory for transaction at either BO or SO or HO."
All SOLs may please be instructed accordingly.
