Rule 38 Transfer in Post Offices

Rule 38 transfer is a provision in the Indian Postal Department's rules that allows employees to transfer to a different location within the same circle or to another circle, subject to certain conditions.

Eligibility Criteria:

1. Employee must have completed at least 2 years of service in the current circle.

2. Employee must have completed the probation period.

3. Employee should not have any pending disciplinary action.

Types of Rule 38 Transfers:

1. Own Request Transfer: Employee can request transfer to a specific location.

2. Mutual Exchange: Two employees can exchange posts with each other.

Procedure:

2. Application is forwarded to the Regional/Circle Office for approval.

3. Regional/Circle Office verifies eligibility and availability of vacancies.

4. Approval and Transfer order is issued .
