NPS to UPS Migration for Central Govt Employees: Deadline 30.06.2025 | India Post

The Government of India's Department of Posts has issued a notification regarding the migration of existing Central Government subscribers from NPS to UPS. The option to migrate is available until 30.06.2025, and subscribers can submit their request via the eNPS portal or Form A2. The migration is final and irrevocable once exercised.

Subject: Regarding exercising of UPS Option by existing Central Government subscribers under NPS.

Please find enclosed a copy of Letter No. GM(PAAF)/NPS/Pr.PAO/UPS dated 03.04.2025 regarding exercise of UPS Option by existing Central Government Subscribers under NPS received from ACAO/NPS, Delhi Postal Circle, Delhi along with copy of email received from Protean CRA vide email dated 03.04.2025.

PFRDA has issued UPS under NPS through gazette notification dated 19.03.2025 and the regulations will be effective from 01.04.2025. All the existing NPS Subscribers under Central Government have one time option to opt for UPS and migrate their account (PRAN) from NPS to UPS. The migration request is to be submitted within 3 months from 01.04.2025. Once the option to migrate is exercised same is final and irrevocable.

The Nodal Office (DDO/PAO) is required to process the Migration request of the subscriber in the CRA system. Migration request can be initiated by the subscriber via the eNPS portal https://enps.nsdl.com or by submitting Form A2 to the respective Nodal Office. Form A2 can be downloaded from website. Copy of Form A2 is enclosed for ready reference.

The Central Government Subscribers can exercise their migration request as directed in the email enclosed. FAQ on UPS is also enclosed for kind information.

All concerned are requested to kindly bring this to the notice of all the Staff under their control. The subscribers willing to opt for UPS are requested to submit their option either by physically submitting Form A2 to concerned DDO/PAO or by directly login into eNPS portal and submit it via Aadhar eSign on or before 30.06.2025.
