CHECK LIST FOR POSB CLAIM CASES
Documentation & Verification
- Sanctioning Authority: Verify the claim limit as per authority guidelines.
Claim Application:
- Must bear a date stamp on receipt.
- Claimant must fill in the date.
PM/SPM Certifications:
- Certificate stating: “Balance Verified, No Nomination, No OM pending, No Court attachment, No counter claim” (signed by PM/SPM with name, date).
- “Balance verified and found correct” on top of the form (signed by PM/SPM).
Finacle Ledger Copy:
- Attested by PM/SPM with remarks: “Balance verified and found correct”.
Witnesses:
- Signatures with full address in claim form, Annexure I/Form 15/Letter of Indemnity.
- PM/SPM must accept witnesses with dated signatures.
- Identity & Legal Compliance
ID/Address Proof:
- Self-attested copies of claimants, witnesses, and sureties.
- PM/SPM must attest: “Compared with original and found correct”.
Death/Legal Heir Certificates:
- PM/SPM to certify: “Compared with original and found correct”.
- For minors: Submit consent statement from legal heirs.
Indemnity & Affidavits
Indemnity Bond:
- Submit on ₹500 bond paper; Affidavit/Disclaimer on ₹200 stamp paper each.
- Include names/signatures of all legal heirs/sureties in relevant sections.
Sureties:
- Signatures required on all pages of Letter of Indemnity.
- Full addresses must be provided.
Additional Requirements
Account Details:
- New account number must match Finacle ledger and passbook.
Post-Death Deposits:
- Reject deposits after depositor’s death; submit claimant/SPM explanation if any.
Late Claims:
- Obtain reason from claimant for delayed submissions.
Name Discrepancies:
- Submit reconciliation certificate (per SB Order 31/2020) with VAO/affidavit.
Aadhaar:
- Mandatory for deceased claim cases.
Corrections & Updates
- Annexure Corrections: Attest by Notary Public.
- Passbook Reconciliation: Update passbook to match ledger copy.
