Subject: Grant of Dearness Relief (DR) in the 5th Central Pay Commission (CPC) series effective from 01.07.2024 to CPF beneficiaries receiving basic ex-gratia payment.
Enhancement of DR:
- For surviving CPF beneficiaries (retired between 18.11.1960 and 31.12.1985):
- DR increased from 443% to 455% of basic ex-gratia (Rs. 3000, Rs. 1000, Rs. 750, Rs. 650 for Group A, B, C, D respectively) effective 01.07.2024.
For widows/dependent children of deceased CPF beneficiaries (retired/died before 01.01.1986):
- DR increased from 435% to 447% of basic ex-gratia (Rs. 645/month).
For pre-18.11.1960 retirees on CPF benefits:
- DR enhanced for ex-gratia payments of Rs. 654, Rs. 659, Rs. 703, Rs. 965.
- Rounding Off: Fractions of a rupee in DR to be rounded to the next higher rupee.
- Responsibility: Pension disbursing authorities (e.g., nationalized banks) to calculate DR for each case.
