CBI arrests two accused Asst. Supdt. of Post Offices, and GDS- ABPM, Varanasi, UP, while accepting undue advantage of Rs.20,000/-

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested two accused including Asst. Supdt. of Post Offices, HQ, Varanasi, West Division, Varanasi, UP and GDS- ABPM, Branch- Khewali, Varanasi, UP while accepting undue advantage of Rs.20,000/-.

A case was registered on 12.03.2025 against the said accused, on allegations that accused ASPOs, HQ, Varanasi, while holding the charge of ASPOs, West Division, Varanasi visited Sub Post Office, Sewapuri, Varanasi along with co-accused where the complainant was posted and inspected Aadhar Register of the branch. While leaving the post office, the accused took away the Aadhar Register along with him and for returning Aadhar Register and not initiating any action against the complainant, demanded undue advantage of Rs. 50,000/- from the complainant.

CBI laid a trap on 13.06.2025 and caught both the accused red-handed. Both accused were arrested and will be produced before the competent Court on 14.06.2025.

Investigation is continuing.
