Subject: Creation of New Facility ID in connection with Roll out of Delivery Centres under Phase I – reg.

This has reference to Postal Directorate letter of even no. dated 17th February, 2025 on the above referred subject issuing thereby Policy guidelines on centralized delivery of all types of postal articles including speed post, registered, parcel and ordinary articles by delivery staff though setting up of Delivery Centres (DC). The Policy guidelines also provides for creation of new Facility ID for the Delivery Centres.

2. References have been received from Circles regarding issues faced by them in creation of new Facility ID for the identified Delivery Centres.

3. The matter has been examined in consultation with CEPT team and it is observed that creation of new Facility ID for the Delivery Centres may not be feasible due to upcoming All India roll out of IT 2.0. Accordingly, it has been decided that new Facility ID for identified Delivery Centre may not be created and Delivery Centres under Phase I will be rolled out with the existing Facility ID.

4. Circles are, therefore, requested to roll out the Delivery Centre under Phase I with the existing Facility ID of Delivery PO which is identified as the Delivery Centre for centralized delivery.
