To All Delivery Staff (Postman / GDS / BPM / ABPM),
It has come to our attention that some delivery personnel are incorrectly using the redirection feature in the IMA App for articles that have been mis-sent or mistakenly invoiced.
To prevent unnecessary charges to the public and ensure proper procedure, please adhere to the following guidelines immediately:
✅ When to Redirect (The ONLY Correct Reason):
Only if the addressee has permanently shifted to a new address.
🚫 When NOT to Redirect via IMA App:
If an article is mis-sent to the wrong beat or received from RMS as mis-sent:
➡️ Action: It must be redirected directly by the Mail PA without an invoice. Do not use the IMA App for this.
If any article is mistakenly invoiced to you:
➡️ Action: Do not redirect it yourself. The Beat Supervisor, APM, or SPM will correct the beat and handle the redirection.
📜 Critical Reason: Why This Matters
Incorrect redirection through the IMA App will wrongly charge the addressee an additional fee of ₹6/- as per the Indian Post Office Regulations, 2024. This causes unnecessary customer complaints and financial penalties.
