Key Points:

Training Period Extended:

• The induction training period for the Postman Cadre (Postmen/Postwomen) has been revised from two weeks to three weeks.
• Based on recommendations from a one-man committee headed by the Chief Postmaster General (CPMG), Maharashtra Circle.

Training Module Plan:

• A detailed 18-day training module is provided (see summary below).

Includes both classroom and field training, covering a wide range of topics such as:

• Organizational structure
• Postal products and services
• Delivery processes
• Financial services (POSB, IPPB, PLI/RPLI)
• Communication and marketing skills
• Field visits and practical sessions

Reference to Earlier Communication:

• Refers to an earlier letter dated 19th October 2020, which allowed direct recruitment and promotion without waiting for induction training completion, to speed up appointments.

Implementation:

• Training must be completed within one year of joining.
• In-house training may be provided initially, but formal training at Postal Training Centers (PTCs) is mandatory.
