All selected candidates of Stenographer Grade 'C' & 'D', Examination, 2024 recommended for appointment to the posts of Stenographer Grade-II (erstwhile Stenographer Grade 'D') in Department of posts, Ministry of Communications.

Subject: Calling for Options / Preferences of Postal Circle from selected candidates for appointment as Stenographer Grade-II on the basis of stenographer Grade 'C' &'D' Examination, 2024.

Based on the results of Stenographer Grade 'C' & 'D' Examination, 2024 dated 11.07.2025; your name has been sponsored by Staff Selection Commission (SSC) for appointment as Stenographer Grade-II (Level-4 in the pay Matrix) in Department of Posts. A list of selected candidates is placed at Annexure-I for ready reference. Candidates are requested to bring the discrepancies, if any, found in the list to the notice of this Directorate by email at spn1.dop@gov.in.

2. A candidate will be allocated to one of the Postal Circles for appointment as Stenographer Grade-II, list of which is at Annexure-II. Thereafter, the respective Postal Circle, where a candidate is allocated, will take further action for completion of other procedural requirement leading to issue of offer of appointment. Allocation of Postal Circle will be made as per the following criteria:

i. A candidate shall be allocated to a Postal Circle on the basis of her/ his merit (rank), order of preference (option), and vacancy available in a Postal Circle at her/ his turn in the category she/ he has been selected. [Note:- A candidate belonging to OBC/SC/ST category selected under unreserved category shall be allocated Postal Circle in the order of preference where unreserved vacancy is available at his/ her turn.]

ii. Person with disability (PWD) candidates irrespective of their ranks will be allocated Postal Circle in the manner indicated at sub para 2 (i), except that allocation shall be done only on the basis of availability of vertical reservation vacancies. For example, the candidate selected under EWS&VH category may be allocated to any Circle where EWS vacancy is available even if VH category vacancy is not available in that Circle. Similarly, a candidate selected under OBC&VH category may be allocated to any Circle where OBC vacancy is available even if VH category vacancy is not available in that  Circle. If a Circle, where a VH or OH category candidate will be allocated, has not reported that category vacancy, it will be adjusted against future vacancy.

iii. After allocation of Postal Circles to PwD candidates, Ex-Servicemen candidates shall be allocated Postal Circles in the above manner mentioned at sub para 2 (ii) above.

iv. After allocation of Circles to PWD candidates and Ex-serviceman candidates, remaining candidates will be allocated Postal Circles in the manner mentioned in sub para 2 (i) above.

v. All such candidates who do not submit their preference/option or are not allocated to any of the Postal Circle mentioned in their limited preference, shall be allocated Postal Circle randomly where vacancies are available in their respective selected category, after completing the allocation of Postal Circles to other candidates whose preference has been received.

3. The Postal Circle-wise and category-wise vacancies are enclosed at Annexure-II for your information. The candidates who do not give their order of preference or indicate their preference only for a few Postal Circles will be at a disadvantage, as mentioned at sub para 2(v) above; therefore, it is advised to give order of preference for all Postal Circles mentioned in Annexure-II.

4. You are requested to indicate your preference of Postal Circle inAnnexure III by indicating name of Postal Circles. The duly filled-in Option Form (Annexure-III) must be sent to e-mail spn1.dop@gov.in and an ink-signed copy may be sent by Speed Post / Registered Post to the address mentioned latest by 06th November, 2025, failing which it would be presumed that you have no preferences for Postal Circle. The subject of the email should be your Roll Number followed by your name, for example, if your Roll no. is 2201044816 and name is NISHU KUMARI then, subject of the email should be '2201044816 NISHUKUMARI'.

5. Order of preference received after 06th November, 2025 will be taken into consideration only at the sole discretion of the Department of Posts.
