Eligibility & Verification:
- Only bona fide students with a valid Student ID card from a recognized educational institution can avail the discount.
- The discount applies only to domestic retail parcels (Speed Post Parcel retail and India Post Parcel retail).
Booking Process:
- At the counter or on the Click-n-Book portal, a "Student Discount" option will be available.
Selecting it prompts mandatory entry of:
- Student's name
- Institution name
- Student ID number
- ID validity date
- The system will not complete the booking until these fields are filled.
Counter Procedure:
The Counter PA must:
- Verify the physical Student ID matches the details entered.
- Retain a photocopy of the ID for 60 days.
- The booking receipt will show: “Student Discount Applied – ID Verified” along with the Student ID number.
Online (Click-n-Book) Procedure:
- A “Student” checkbox will be available on the portal.
After online booking, the pickup agent must:
- Verify the ID details entered online.
- Collect a photocopy of the Student ID during pickup.
System & Phases:
- Phase 1 (effective 01.01.2026): Basic ID details captured in the system.
- Phase 2 (by 31.05.2026): Ability to upload an image of the ID card.
- The system automatically calculates and applies the 10% discount once details are verified.
Monitoring:
System-generated reports will track:
- Number of parcels under the scheme
- Unique Student IDs used
- Booking frequency
- Revenue generated
Key Responsibility:
- The Counter PA is responsible for correct implementation and verification at the counter.
- No manual exemptions are allowed; all validations must go through the system.
