FNPO Demands - 5 Day Week for Postal Employees across India

 

The Federation of National Postal Organisations (FNPO), with support from UNI Global Union, is demanding a 5‑day work week for postal employees across India.

Key Points Highlighted: 

• Postal staff face heavy workloads due to increased business and technical operations.
• They often work long hours, including Saturdays, which harms health and family life.
• Frequent technical disruptions force employees to stay late without compensation.
• There’s an inequality: administrative offices already work 5 days, but operational staff must work 6.


• Postal employees have responsibilities similar to banks and insurance companies, which already follow a 5‑day week.
• During the COVID‑19 lockdown, postal workers continued working without extra benefits.
