Subject: Request for furnishing comments on the identification and requirement of stamps and seals to remain in use in the modern integrated system, specifically after the roll out of APT 2.0.

Respected Madam / Sir,

I am directed to refer to the matter concerning extension of the contract between the Department of Posts (DoP) and PSICS, Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, for the supply of stamps and seals to all Circles. This also involves identifying which stamps and seals remain relevant in the modern integrated system, particularly following the rollout of APT 2.0, to prevent unnecessary procurement by any Circle or unit without due consideration. The extension of the said contract is currently under examination, and the final assessment report is to be submitted by 31 January 2026, as directed by the Secretary (Posts), DoP.

In light of the above directives, comments have been received from the Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu Circles regarding the identification of the aforementioned stamps and seals. It has been noted that these Circles recommend retaining only 66 out of the 107 stamps and seals for current use, while suggesting that 41 stamps and seals (as detailed in Annexure- I and Annexure-II, respectively) are no longer required.

Prior to finalizing the assessment on the necessity of these stamps and seals, all Circles are requested to review the lists provided and furnish their comments on whether the stamps and seals should be retained for continued use or discontinued as outlined in Annexure-I and Annexure-II.

It is, therefore, requested to kindly furnish your inputs or comments by 30th January 2026, without fail, as the target date for submitting the final assessment report to the Secretary (Posts), DoP, is 31st January 2026.
