Background
This order supersedes the earlier Directorate Order dated 22 June 2026 and revises the work allocation and reporting structure of the Adviser (Cost).

1. Role of Adviser (Cost)
The Adviser (Cost) will provide specialized technical and professional advice to the Tariff & Costing Division on matters related to:
- Costing methodologies
- Tariff formulation
- Pricing strategies
- Cost analysis
- Other cost-related issues
The advisory role will function within the established administrative and functional framework of the Division.
2. Reporting Structure
- The Tariff & Costing Division will continue under the overall charge of the Joint Secretary & Financial Adviser (JS&FA).
- The JS&FA will be assisted by the Senior Deputy Director General (Postal Accounts & Finance) [Sr. DDG (PAF)], who is also the Principal Chief Controller of Accounts (Pr. CCA).
- The arrangement will operate in accordance with the Charter for Financial Advisers.
3. Approval
The revised work allocation and reporting structure has been issued with the approval of the Secretary (Posts).
