The Department of Posts has established a "Marketing & Sales Vertical" to institutionalize professional business promotion and revenue augmentation across its service domains.
Key Objectives
- Strengthen Outreach: Develop strategic planning and customized marketing for services including Mail, Parcel, POSB, and Insurance.
- Professionalize Sales: Create a cadre-neutral, skills-based stream of sales personnel.
- Performance-Driven: Implement target-driven, incentivized marketing to improve revenue.
- Customer Engagement: Leverage digital media, field campaigns, and feedback mechanisms.Structure
The vertical follows a three-tiered structure:
- Assistant Manager (Marketing & Sales): Divisional-level operational staff responsible for field visits, client onboarding, and local campaigns.
- Manager/Senior Manager (Marketing & Sales): Responsible for supervising Assistant Managers, consolidating reports, and conducting training.
- Chief Manager/Assistant General Manager (Marketing & Sales): Nodal officers at the Circle/Regional level focused on strategic planning and large-scale coordination.
Directorate-Level Marketing Division:
- Provides centralized policy, brand promotion, and campaign strategy.Personnel and SelectionSelection Process: Positions are filled via an interview-based, merit-based process conducted by an Interview Board.
- Tenure: Selected officials serve a fixed three-year tenure, extendable by two years.
- Status: Roles are functional; officials retain their original cadre, seniority, and lien.
Performance: Staff may be reverted to their parent cadre for unsatisfactory performance or administrative exigency.Training
Officials will undergo mandatory induction training at Postal Training Centres or RAKNPA, covering product knowledge, negotiation, digital marketing, and data analytics. Detailed performance-linked incentive guidelines will be issued separately.
