India Post Implements Common Organizational Structure in Maharashtra Circle – Memo Dated 05 Oct 2026

The memo dated 05.10.2026 from the Chief Postmaster General, Maharashtra Circle, Mumbai, conveys approval for implementing a Common Organizational Structure across Circle, Regional, Divisional, and RMS offices in Maharashtra, as directed by the Postal Directorate.

Key highlights:
  • Circle Office restructuring: Several designations revised, e.g., APMG (Vig & Inv) → APMG (Vig, Inv & Ins), APMG (Staff) → APMG (Staff & HRD), ADPS (Mails) → ADPS (Mails & Parcels), etc. Branches like Vigilance, HRD, Marketing, PLI, Financial Services, Technology, Legal, and Citizen-Centric Services are reorganized.
  • Regional Offices restructuring: Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Pune, CSN, Nagpur, and Goa regions adopt uniform portfolios such as ADPS (Staff & HRD), ADPS (Mails, Parcel & CCS), ADPS (Vig, Inv & Insp), and ADPS (Estate & Tech). Some posts will be redeployed later but managed on attachment basis until then.
  • RMS Division restructuring: Offices like Air Mail Stg. Dn. Mumbai, Central Stg. Dn. Mumbai, Foreign Post Office, and RMS divisions in Pune, Nagpur, Bhusawal, and Miraj will have posts restructured into ASP (Admin, Operations, Transportation).
  • Postal Divisional Offices: Divisional Heads must implement revised portfolios strictly as per Directorate orders. Surplus posts will be redeployed later. LSG officials may also be posted to strengthen supervision.
  • Compliance reports on implementation must be submitted within three days.
This restructuring aims to streamline administration, improve efficiency, and align Maharashtra Circle with the common organizational framework prescribed by the Directorate.
