India Post to Issue Standardized Pensioner Identity Cards from November 2026

Subject: Issuance of Pensioner’s Identity Card to retiring and retired officials of the Department of Posts – instructions regarding.

Pensioner’s Identity Cards will be issued to all retiring and retired officials, whether under CCS (Pension) Rules or NPS.

• Design & Specifications: PVC card (like debit/credit card), size 8.8 cm × 5.5 cm, standardized across Circles.
• Front side: Common format with photo, name, address, mobile number, blood group, signatures.
• Reverse side: For CCS Pension Rules: PPO number & date, retirement details, pay scale, post held, last pay drawn.
• For NPS: PRAN number, retirement details, pay scale, post held, last pay drawn.

Implementation:

• Cards to be issued to retiring officials from November 2026 onwards, handed over at retirement.
• Special drive to issue cards to all retired personnel by December 2026.
• Consolidated report to be submitted by 15 January 2027.

Objective: Ensure no retiring/retired official is left out, providing uniform identification and convenience
