.msi Installation error and Solution

While trying to install .msi patch file it may show the error message "The upgrade patch can not be installed by the windows installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing or the upgrade patch mat update a different version of the program. Verify that the program to be upgraded exists on your computer and that you have the correct upgrade patch.

Solution

• Download and install the latest version of windows installer.
• Reboot / Restart your machine.
• Try to install patches once again using the .msi file
