Install or Uninstall the Windows Applications in the Safe Mode

Un-installation of Windows Application could not be possible as windows installer services has been stopped. This should be started before moving to un installing the windows application in Safe Mode. Detailed procedure and video tutorials are available in the below link for easy understanding.

Windows Installer & Safe Mode

• Windows Installer will not work under Safe Mode, this means that programs ca
• nnot be installed or uninstalled in safe mode without giving a specific command using msiexec in command prompt.
• To make Windows Installer work under safe mode, you need to create a registry entry for every type of safe mode you are logged in to. Click below link to watch video tutorial for starting up the windows installer services.

Safe Mode.

Type this in a command prompt:

1. REG ADD "HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SafeBoot\Minimal\MSIServer" /VE /T REG_SZ /F /D "Service"
   
   

   and then

   net start msiserver
   
   

   This will start the Windows Installer Service.
   2. Safe Mode with Network

2. REG ADD "HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SafeBoot\Network\MSIServer" /VE /T REG_SZ /F /D "Service"
   
   

   and followed by

   net start msiserver 
   
   

   This will start the Windows Installer Service.
