NOTICE
Subject: Calling for options/preference of Postal Circles from candidates recommended by Staff Selection Commission, on the basis of CGLE – 2024, for appointment as Postal Assistant / Sorting Assistant in Department of Posts - regarding.
Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has published the results of Combined Graduate Level Examination (CGLE), 2024 on 12.03.2025 and 29.03.2025, recommending (4107+43=4150) candidates for appointment as Postal Assistant (PA)/Sorting Assistant (SA), in Department of Posts in Level-4 of the Pay Matrix.
List of selected candidates received from the results published by SSC on its official website is placed at Annexure-I. Candidates are requested to bring the discrepancies, if any, found in the list to the notice of Department of Posts.
A candidate will be allocated to one of the 23 Postal Circles, for appointment as PA/SA. Thereafter, the respective Postal Circle, where a candidate is allocated, will take appropriate action for completion of other procedural requirements leading to issue of offer of appointment. Allocation of Postal Circle will be made as per the following criteria:
(a) A candidate shall be allocated to a Postal Circle on the basis of her/his merit (rank), order of preference (option), and vacancy available at her/his turn in the category she/he has been selected. [For removal of doubt it is clarified that OBC, SC or ST candidate selected against Unreserved vacancy will be allocated Circle where unreserved vacancy is available at respective turn.]
(b) Person with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) candidates irrespective of their ranks will be allocated Postal Circles first followed by Ex-serviceman candidates in the manner mentioned in (a) above.
(c) After allocation of Circles to PwBD candidates and Ex-serviceman candidates, remaining candidates will be allocated Postal Circles in the manner mentioned in (a) above.
(d) Candidates, who do not exercise their preference / option (PNR candidates), shall be allocated Postal Circle after completing the allocation of Circle to all other candidates, whose preference has been received. Such candidates shall be allocated Postal Circle randomly where vacancy is available in their respective category of selection.
(e) All candidates, who have been nominated for the posts of PA/SA by SSC, shall be allocated Postal Circle irrespective of status of receipt of their dossiers. However, their candidature shall be subject to confirmation of nomination and receipt of dossiers from SSC. They shall have no claim for appointment to the said posts in Department of Posts in case candidature is cancelled by SSC or whose dossier(s) is/are not received.
Postal Circle-wise, category-wise vacancies are enclosed at Annexure-II for information. All candidates recommended by SSC for appointment as PA/SA are requested to register themselves in the web portal developed by Department of Posts and to indicate their preference for all 23 Postal Circles. The candidates must give their order of preference for all 23 Postal Circles.

In case of any technical issues, candidates may raise their concern to CEPT at cept@indiapost.gov.in and for any other issues to Department of Posts at spn1.dop@gov.in.
Candidates must register themselves on the aforesaid portal well in advance and submit their order of preference of Postal Circle by 14.04.2025. Preference received by any other mode will not be entertained.
[Note: Candidates may note that further updates/information with regard to Circle allocation on the basis of CGLE-2024 will be placed only on the website of Department of Posts (www.indiapost.gov.in – “News & Updates”). They are, therefore, advised to regularly visit website of Department of Posts for further updates.]
After list of Circle Allocation is published, candidates will be able to exercise their preference for Cadre and Division/Unit of the allocated Circle through the aforementioned same web portal where preference of Circle is submitted (“https://utilities.cept.gov.in/allokidich/”). For this purpose, candidates shall use their initial login credentials and will not be required to register afresh.
