Subject: Clarification regarding creation of Facility ID of Delivery Centre – reg.
Ref. NE Circle letter no. Malis/1-673/25/IDC (Pt. fl.) dated 20/05/2025.

This has reference to North Eastern Circle letter referred above regarding creation of Facility ID for new 'Delivery Centre' and requesting thereby some clarification in the matter.

2. The issues raised by the NE Circle has been examined. Para-wise replies to the queries raised by the Circle in the matter are as under:

As to whether the status of the existing Delivery Post office can be changed to non-delivery PO in the system if the same PIN code of the existing PO is to be used for the newly created 'Delivery Centre'.	Status of existing delivery PO needs to be changed to 'Non-Delivery PO' in the system if the same PIN code is proposed to be assigned to newly created 'Delivery Centre' as newly created 'Delivery Centre' will be assigned the status of 'Delivery Office' against the PIN code concerned.
2.	Whether the PIN Code of the existing major Post office can be used against the Delivery Centre when some of the delivery beats falling under the PO are not covered under the delivery jurisdiction of the Delivery Centre. If so, which PIN Code is to be assigned to such delivery beats/BO beats outside the delivery jurisdiction of the Delivery Centre.	It is clarified that all delivery beats/BO Beats of the existing delivery POS needs to be assigned to any of the newly created 'Delivery Centre' or some other existing delivery PO, before the PIN code is used for the newly created 'Delivery Centre'. Unless and until, all delivery work is withdrawn from the existing Delivery PO, the PIN code of the existing delivery PO cannot be used for the newly created 'Delivery Centre'.

3. North Eastern Circle is requested to take necessary action in the matter accordingly.
