Subject: Revised Relative Merit Point System (RMPS-2025) for Compassionate Appointments

Key Highlights:

  • Revised RMPS-2025:
    • 100-point system with 11 variables (e.g., family pension, liabilities, dependents).
    • 15 bonus points for spouse applicants; 4 bonus points if deceased was a single parent.
    • Variables include financial status, dependents, left-over service, and disabilities.
  • Eligibility & Process:
    • Dependent family members must be wholly dependent on the deceased/missing/medically retired official.
    • Circle-specific vacancy cap: ≤5% of Group "C" direct recruitment vacancies annually.
    • Missing cases require FIR and 2-year lapse; medical retirement cases exclude post-19.05.2015 retirements.
  • Special Provisions:
    • Widows without educational qualifications may be appointed as MTS trainees.
    • Age relaxation permitted by Head of Circle for applicants exceeding age limits.
  • Implementation: Effective for 2024 vacancy year onwards; older cases follow prior guidelines.

Additional Notes:

  • Cut-off Dates: Dependents/unmarried daughters/minor children counted as on application date; other variables as on death/missing/retirement date.
  • Rejections: Cases rejected after 3 CRC considerations unless new facts emerge.
  • Placement: Preference given to home town/division postings where feasible.
