Subject: Clarification/Instruction regarding applicability of Proof of Delivery charges in place for Acknowledgment Due for Registered Post -reg.

With reference to the above mentioned subject, it is intimated that currently RMFS is configured with Acknowledgement Due facility for registered articles at the rate of Rs. 3/- per item, in addition to postage and other applicable fee.

2. In this regard, it is to inform that Department of Posts has replaced the Acknowledgement Due facility with Proof of Delivery which can be availed for any domestic accountable article by paying a fee of Rs. 10/- per item, in addition to postage and other applicable fee, as per the Post Office Regulations, 2024.

It is therefore requested to configure Proof of delivery facility in RMFS at Rs. 10/- per item instead of acknowledgement due by this month end as the large scale rollout of IT 2.0 is scheduled in the first week of July-2025 and the following weeks. It is also requested to furnish a compliance certificate to this effect by this month end.

Further, copy of the Post Office Regulations, 2024 and three amendments to the Post Office Regulations are enclosed for incorporation of the products and their rates in RMFS at the earliest.
