Directorate has issued clarification vide No. Tgy-48/5/2022-Tech-DOP dated 11.04.2025 and revised the Hardware Specifications under IT 2.0 in respect of Thermal and Label Printers wherein

In this regard it is informed that all the Head offices and Sub Post offices are to be provided with printers mentioned at SI.No.6, of the Modified Hardware Specifications for newly added Hardware as per requirement of IT 2.0 – June 2024 only (i.e Receipt and Label Printer (A6) ). A6 printers are required for printing of labels as per functional requirements.

Postal Directorate has recommended vide Directorate letter no. Tgy-48/5/2022-Tech-DOP dated 03.07.2024 to purchase a hardware to the post office as specified below. This recommendation based on the MelTY vide letter no. 8(1)/2023-Cyber Security dated 4.6.2024. Further, the Directorate has initially recommended to purchase A6 amd A7 Mini Label and Receipt Printers for HOs and SOs based their needs. 

6.	Label and Receipt Printer For HO's and Heavy Booking Offices)	For Counter Operations. A6 Mini Thermal Printer that can print A6 and less than A6 like A7 also. Sticker Printer continuous roll. Bluetooth/Wireless/USB enabled. Prints text, bar codes and graphics in all four directions. Resolution: 200dpi. Printer speed: at least 4ips (inches per second). Should be able to generate perforation (to tear off) based on the software integration at any size.
7.	Label and Receipt Printer For SO's and BO's)	For Counter Operations. A7 Mini Thermal Printer. Sticker Printer continuous roll. Bluetooth/Wireless/USB enabled. Prints text, bar codes and graphics in all four directions. Resolution: 200dpi. Printer speed: at least 4ips (inches per second). Should be able to generate perforation (to tear off) based on the software integration at any size.
