Eligibility Criteria:
- Officials from specified grades with 8 years of regular service as of January 1, 2025, are eligible. Eligible grades include Higher Selection Grade-II, Postmaster Grade-II, Stenographer Grade-I, Lower Selection Grade, Postmaster Grade-I, Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant, and Stenographer Grade-II.
Age Limit: Maximum 45 years as of January 1, 2025 (relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST).
- Vacancies: A total of 81 tentative vacancies for 2025, categorized under UR, SC, ST, and PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities) categories.
Exam Pattern & Syllabus:
- Paper-I (250 marks): Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) on Postal Acts, Rules, Manuals, Schemes, and IT systems.
- Paper-II (50 marks): Descriptive paper involving Noting, Drafting, and drafting a Major Penalty Charge Sheet.
- Paper-III (300 marks): MCQs on the Constitution of India, various Acts (BNSS, CAT, Prevention of Corruption, RTI, etc.), Financial Rules, Service Rules, General Knowledge, and Aptitude.
- Qualifying Marks: 40% per paper & 45% overall for General; 33% per paper & 38% overall for SC/ST/PwBD.
Selection Procedure:
- Vacancies are pooled at the All-India level. A common merit list will be prepared.
- Candidates must indicate their preference for all 23 Postal Circles during application. Allotment is done on a merit-cum-preference basis. Preferences once submitted are final.
Key Instructions:
- The exam will be conducted at Circle Headquarters only.
- The mode of examination is OMR-based for MCQs and descriptive for Paper-II.
- The medium for Paper-II is Hindi or English only.
