Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) – Key Highlights

• Effective from: 1st April 2025.
• Eligibility: NPS-covered Central Govt. employees.
• Option window: 01.04.2025 to 30.11.2025.
• Assured payout: 50% of last 12 months’ average basic pay after 25 years of service.
• Minimum payout: ₹10,000/month after 10+ years of service.
• Family payout: 60% to spouse after death of pensioner.
• Contributions: Employee (10%) + Govt. (10%) + Additional Govt. contribution (8.5% pooled).
• Partial withdrawals allowed for specific purposes after 3 years.
• No payout in cases of dismissal, removal, or resignation.
