3. Main Directive

  • After reviewing the current mail transmission situation, the Department of Posts will use transit services from other designated operators.
  • Details of these arrangements are provided in the Annexure for information and necessary updation.

  • GM (CEPT), Mysore – tasked with uploading this OM on the India Post website and updating software/POS for the indicated mail categories.

6. Annexure – Transit Arrangements by Country
The annexure provides a country-wise list of international mail transit arrangements. Below is a structured extraction:
Special Notes from Annexure

No Service Countries:

  • North Korea, Pakistan, Libya, Puerto Rico, Tokelau, Tristan da Cunha, Syria, Yemen, Timor Leste, Guam, St. Helena, South Georgia & Sandwich Islands.

Suspended Services:

  • Dominica, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Virgin Islands, Mariana Islands.

Closed Transit Arrangements:

  • Myanmar via Thailand (Closed transit).

Special Routing:

  • Palestine routed via Israel.
  • Ukraine via Poland (CT).
  • Chile via Uruguay (from 13.12.2024).

Multiple Categories:

  • Some countries allow EMS, Letters, Parcels, ITPS (e.g., Egypt, Israel, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda).
