Subject : Generation of QR Code for Cash Conveyance During Election Code of Conduct.

Sir/Madam,

The election dates for the Tamil Nadu State Assembly and Puducherry U.T. Assembly were announced yesterday as 23.04.2026 and 09.04.2026 respectively. From the date of announcement, the Model Code of Conduct has come into force.

In order to prevent the seizure of cash during conveyance between the Bank and Post Offices / Cash Office and Post Offices / Sub Offices and Branch Offices, and vice versa, it is instructed to generate a QR code and keep it along while conveying cash.

In this regard, it is instructed that to keep valid documents containing the details of cash conveyance, such as the source office, destination office, amount (with denomination), mode of conveyance, along with the conveyor’s details, to avoid seizure of cash.

In this connection,users have been created for the offices under Madurai Division. All are hereby directed to generate the QR code using the given URL https://cvigil.eci.gov.in/ by entering the registered mobile number and OTP.
