Subject

Forwarding of the Ministry of Finance orders regarding Tables of Benefits under the Central Government Employees Group Insurance Scheme (CGEGIS), 1980 for the quarter 01 April 2026 to 30 June 2026 for information and necessary action.

Key Points

• Ministry of Finance has issued revised Savings Fund Benefit Tables applicable for employees covered under CGEGIS-1980 for the period 01.04.2026 to 30.06.2026.
• The calculations are based on an interest rate of 7.1% per annum compounded quarterly, as notified by the Department of Economic Affairs.
• Benefit tables are issued on a quarterly basis.

Categories of Benefit Tables

1. Employees contributing ₹10 per month from 01.01.1982 to 31.12.1989 and ₹15 per month from 01.01.1990 onwards.
2. Employees who opted to continue with ₹10 per month contribution even after 01.01.1990.

Purpose of the Tables

• The tables indicate the accumulated value of savings fund contributions payable to employees/beneficiaries on cessation of membership during January–June 2026.
• Values are provided year-wise from 1982 to 2026 based on the employee’s year of entry into the scheme.

Important Financial Parameters

• Savings Fund Component:
  • 68.75% of subscription from 01.01.1982 to 31.12.1987.
  • 70% of subscription from 01.01.1988 onwards.
• Insurance Fund Component:
  • 31.25% from 01.01.1982 to 31.12.1987.
  • 30% from 01.01.1988 onwards.

Action Required

All Postal Circles, Directorates, Training Centres, Postal Accounts Offices and other concerned units are requested to take note of and implement the revised CGEGIS benefit tables for settlement of claims falling during the quarter 01.04.2026 to 30.06.2026.
