OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: Reservation in promotion of Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBDs) candidates to PS Gr. B cadre – furnishing/verification of list of eligible candidates and calling for information regarding left-out cases – reg.

The undersigned is directed to refer to DoP&T OMs No. 36012/1/2020-Estt. (Res.-II) dated 17.05.2022 and 28.12.2023, and this Department's OMs No. SC-12/12/2022-SCT-DOP dated 12.10.2022 and 09.01.2024, on the subject of reservation of Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBDs) candidates in promotion to PS Gr. B cadre. In terms of these instructions, reservation for PwBD candidates in promotion to PS Gr. B cadre has been extended with effect from 30.06.2016, subject to the eligibility conditions prescribed therein.

2. In pursuance of the above, this Department undertook an exercise to identify PwBD officials of the Inspector Posts (IP) cadre the feeder cadre for PS Gr. B falling within the extended Zone of Consideration (ZoC) for the vacancy year 2016, i.e., from IP Seniority List (SL) 1992 to SL 2008. Based on information furnished by the Circles/Units, a list of 21 PwBD officials has been compiled and enclosed herewith as Annexure-I.
3. For further processing of the matter, the list of 21 PwBDs candidates enclosed as Annexure is being circulated to all Postal Circles / Units for verification/ corrections, if any. All Circles/Units are therefore requested to:

i. Verify the particulars of the officials belonging to their respective Circles as shown in the enclosed Annexure and furnish updated details/corrections, if any.

ii. Furnish details of any PwBDs officials of the IP cadre belonging to Seniority List years 1992 to 2008, who might have been inadvertently left out in the enclosed list.

iii. Furnish copies of disability certificates, issued by a competent medical authority, in respect of all officials.

4. It is requested that the above information/confirmation may be furnished to this Section at the earliest, and in any case not later than 15 days from the date of issue of this Office Memorandum, to enable further processing of the Review DPC for PS Gr. B cadre in respect of PwBD candidates. If no information/confirmation is received within 15 days same shall be treated as Nil.
5. This issues with the approval of the Competent Authority.
