Sub: Capturing of Cut-off Time for Transmission Schedules in APT 2.0 – reg.
Please refer to Secretary (Posts)'s DO letter No. 03-06/2019-PD dated 14.08.2026 (Copy enclosed), wherein emphasis has been laid on defining and adhering to cut-off timings for receipt and dispatch of bags at Parcel Hubs, Mail Offices and Post Offices. The definitions of cut-off time for various activities involved in the complete cycle of an accountable article have also been circulated for guidance of field units.
In this regard, CEPT has developed functionality in APT 2.0 for capturing and maintaining cut-off time for each transmission schedule, including provision for schedule-wise and bag-wise cut-off time. The information will enable APT to capture deviation vis a vis identify dispatch schedule and corresponding receipt of the article/bag.
It is, therefore, requested that the exercise may be initiated through all Divisions/field units for:
i) Examining each transmission schedule operated from the respective offices/facilities & determine the appropriate cut-off time for each schedule, taking into account the actual time required for completion of relevant operational activities as per the definitions circulated by Parcel Directorate.
ii) Determining the cut-off time bag-wise, wherever applicable, including the relevant transmission type/forward bag/air/exceptional bag parameters.
iii) Feeding the finalized cut-off time in the Maintain Due Mail List functionality of APT 2.0 as per the process flow/user guide provided by CEPT (Copy enclosed).
iv) Verifying the entries after updation to ensure that the correct cut-off time, bag type, destination/Closed To Office and other schedule details are accurately reflected in the system.
The exercise may be undertaken on priority and completed in all respects by 10.09.2026 & send a compliance report by 11.9.26. Circles may ensure that the work is closely monitored at Circle/Regional/Divisional levels so that all applicable transmission schedules are covered and the cut-off times entered in APT 2.0 accurately represent the operational requirements at the respective facilities.
This issues with the approval of Competent Authority.
