VISAKHAPATNAM: The Crime Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Visakhapatnam caught the senior superintendent of post offices in the Bhimavaram branch in West Godavari district, P Balasubrahmanyam, while he was demanding and accepting a bribe of 2.5 lakh from an employee to revoke the suspension.According to the CBI Superintendent of Police, the senior superintendent of post offices issued an order on November 30 for suspension to a postman, who was facing a criminal case and the case is under trial.
The accused officer Balasubramanyam to revoke the suspension of the postman, demanded a bribe of Rs. 10 lakh. After negotiation, the senior SPO reduced the bribe amount to Rs. 2.5 lakh. As the postman was not willing to pay the bribe money, he lodged a complaint with CBI, Visakhapatnam for necessary legal action. Source: TOI
