Sub: Settling of claims in respect of DBT credits into POSB accounts - reg 

Ref: This office letter of even number dated 06.11.2024.

In continuation to this office letter of even number dated 06.11.2024 regarding settlement of POSB claims where DBT amount is credited to POSB account through modes such as APB and ACH, post death of the depositors, clarification sought on instructions contained in Para No.2 is given below:

"With respect to Social Security Pension and Gruhalakshmi credits, the balance amount in POSB account has to be segregated (Credits before and after date of death).

The amount being received on and before date of death and not withdrawn by the beneficiary has to be paid to the claimant and

The amount credited after date of death has to be booked under GL code communicated for the purpose (8844601520)

Further, process of transferring credits under said GL code to Government of Karnataka is under consideration. Once SOP is finalized, the same will be communicated for needful action.
